AI music generator for ideas, images, video and audio

The AI Song Generator AI music generator turns a written idea or a reference file into original music, with or without vocals. Describe the sound or attach an image, a video clip or an audio file, then compare the versions it returns.

Steps

How it works

  1. Choose a mode

Pick Simple to work from an idea or a reference file, or Custom when you need exact lyrics, a set length or finer control over the result.

  2. Describe the music

Write the idea and a style line. In Simple mode, attach an image, a video clip or an audio file when a reference says it better than words.

  3. Pick a profile and generate

Choose Pro, Fast or Wild, check the credit cost and generate. Progress updates appear while the versions are written and processed.

  4. Keep the best version

Favorite it, file it in a project, or send it straight to extend, cover, stem splitting or WAV export.

Four kinds of input

Many generators only take a text prompt. AI Song Generator accepts four kinds of input, and several of them can be combined in a single request.

  • A written idea: one or two sentences about the scene, the story or the purpose of the track.
  • A style line: genre, tempo feel, instruments and vocal character, kept separate so you can reuse it with new ideas.
  • Reference files: images, a video clip or audio files, used in Simple mode to steer the mood and feel.
  • Lyrics: your own words, sung as written when you work in Custom mode.

Simple mode or Custom mode

Simple mode is for speed. Write the idea, optionally add a style and a reference file, and choose whether lyrics are written for you, supplied by you, or left out for an instrumental.

Custom mode is for control. You set the title, lyrics, style description, styles to exclude, a preferred vocal type and the length, anywhere from 10 seconds to 6 minutes. Advanced sliders adjust how closely the result follows your style text, how adventurous it gets and how different the returned versions are from each other.

Reference files are not available in Custom mode, and exact length is not available in Simple mode, so choose the mode that matches what matters most for this particular track.

Pro, Fast and Wild

Every generation runs on one of three model profiles. Pro aims for the best quality and suits work you plan to keep. Fast returns results sooner, which helps when you are sketching many ideas before committing to one. Wild takes more liberties with arrangement and sound, useful when the safe version feels predictable.

The credit cost of each profile is shown before you confirm, and you can run the same idea on another profile to compare them side by side.

What makes a prompt work

The model responds to sound words more than to adjectives about feelings. Compare "a sad song" with "slow piano ballad in a minor key, sparse strings, close-mic male vocal, ends quietly". The second gives it instruments, pace, texture and an ending to aim for.

  • Name two to four instruments that should carry the track.
  • Give a tempo feel or a number such as "around 90 bpm", and treat it as a target rather than a guarantee.
  • Say what to leave out with exclude styles: no drums, no autotune, no choir.
  • Use Enhance prompt to turn a rough line into descriptors you can edit before generating.

Reading the results

A request can return more than one version. They share your instructions but differ in melody, arrangement and vocal delivery, so listen to all of them before you touch the prompt. Often the fix is picking a different version, not rewriting.

When a version is close, change one thing at a time: the style line, the profile or an excluded element. Changing everything at once makes it hard to tell which edit helped.

After you generate

A generated track is a starting point inside a workspace, not a file you must accept as it is. From any version you can extend it, restyle it as a cover, replace a section, add vocals or an instrumental bed, split stems, render a visualizer video or export WAV. Each audio edit is saved as a new version on the same track, so the original stays available.

What you get

  • MP3 for each returned version
  • WAV export
  • Stems as MP3s after a split
  • MP4 visualizer video

Prompts

Example prompts

Starting points you can paste into Create and adjust. Specific details — tempo, instruments, mood, structure — give the most control.

  1. Product launch bedInstrumental

Confident, modern instrumental for a 45-second product video that builds once and resolves cleanly

Styleminimal electronic, punchy kick, plucked synth, rising pads, 120 bpm

Set 45 seconds in Custom mode so the build lands where the video ends.

  2. From a holiday photoInstrumental

Use the attached beach photo: golden hour, small waves, a little nostalgic

Stylesurf rock, reverb guitar, light shaker

In Simple mode the image sets the mood while the style line picks the instruments.

  3. Story song with vocalsAuto lyrics

A song about a lighthouse keeper who leaves the light on for a ship that never returns

Stylesea shanty meets indie folk, stomps and claps, gang vocals on the chorus

Auto lyrics turn a one-line story into verses and a chorus.

  4. Groove from an audio referenceInstrumental

Something with the laid-back feel of my uploaded drum loop, plus keys and bass

Styleneo-soul, electric piano, round bass, lazy swing

An audio reference guides feel and texture; it is not copied into the result.

    Use in the Studio
  5. Wild experimentInstrumental

Baroque harpsichord meets UK garage, playful and slightly chaotic

Styleharpsichord, 2-step garage drums, deep sub bass, bright stabs

A good test for the Wild profile, which takes more liberties with odd combinations.

Use cases

Where it fits

  • Content creatorsGenerate a bed for a video, set its length in Custom mode, and keep it instrumental so it does not fight the voiceover.
  • Indie game developersTurn concept art into level music by attaching it as an image reference, then extend the best version for longer play sessions.
  • Musicians sketching ideasTry one arrangement idea in several genres before spending studio time on any of them.
  • Teachers and studentsHear how swapping the tempo or the instruments changes the feel of the same musical idea.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can the AI music generator make songs with vocals?
Yes. Leave lyrics on Auto and the model writes them from your idea, or paste your own in Custom mode. For music without singing, set lyrics to Instrumental. Vocal tracks can also get word-timed lyrics on the track page.
How long can a generated track be?
In Custom mode you choose a length from 10 seconds to 6 minutes. Simple mode, which is where image, video and audio references work, picks the length for you; extend the result if you need more.
What does an audio reference actually do?
It steers the feel: tempo, texture, instrumentation and energy. It is not a sample copied into the result, and it does not preserve a melody. To keep a melody and change the style, use the cover tool on a track you own.
Which model profile should I use?
Start with Fast while you are exploring prompts, switch to Pro for the version you plan to keep, and try Wild when results feel too safe. The same prompt can sound quite different across the three.
Is there a free plan?
No. The Studio runs on paid plans with monthly credits, and every action shows its cost before you confirm. Check pricing for the current options.
Where can I make music?
Most music today is made on a computer in a DAW, at home or in a studio, and plenty is sketched on phones and tablets. Browser tools add another option with nothing to install. The AI Song Generator AI music generator runs in the browser: you describe the track or attach a reference, compare the versions it returns and keep them in a private library, on any device you sign in from. If you want to play and record parts yourself, a DAW is still the place to do it, and many people move between the two.
