What a cover keeps and what it changes
A cover keeps the core melody of your song and rebuilds everything around it: the genre, the instruments, the groove and the vocal style. Recognizable phrases survive; production choices do not. Think of it as handing your song to a different band and hearing what they make of it.
Small melodic details can shift along the way, especially in fast passages, so compare the cover with your original before you treat it as final.
Directing the new version
The style description is required, and it is where the cover takes shape:
- Genre swap: "the same song as a bossa nova" or "as stadium rock"
- Instrument swap: "solo piano version" or "string quartet arrangement"
- Vocal change: describe a different kind of singer, or switch to an instrumental cover
- Lyrics: keep the originals, or supply new words to be sung to the kept melody
Your song, your rights
The cover generator is for recordings you own or are authorized to use: your band's demo, a song you wrote and recorded, a track you commissioned with the rights to adapt it. Before processing, you confirm this. Covering a commercial song you do not control is not allowed, and a new style does not make someone else's song yours.
Many AI covers online put a famous singer's voice on a well-known song. This tool does not do that: the new vocal is an original AI voice, and the song has to be yours. To change the words as well, edit the lyrics before you generate and the cover sings your new lines over the same melody.
Covers of tracks already in your library
For songs you generated in AI Song Generator, there is nothing to upload: open the track and choose Cover. The AI remix generator page describes that workflow, including how to extend and edit the new version afterwards.
Looking for cover art?
This tool makes audio covers, which are new versions of a song. Square artwork for releases is a different job: album cover art is a separate Studio tool on the Pro plan, and its credit cost is shown before you confirm.
