Lyric Video Maker

The AI Song Generator lyric video maker puts the words of your song on screen in time with the vocal, in one of fourteen animated styles, over a background that reacts to the music. The text and background are rendered by AI Song Generator itself, so a lyric video uses no AI video credits unless you add generated scenes.

See it in action

Short samples made with AI Song Generator from one of our own songs and a fictional character. Turn the sound on to hear how they follow the music.

  • Kinetic: lines punch in on the beat.

  • Typography with karaoke fill: every word lights up as it is sung.

  • Neon: glowing lines for night-time tracks.

  • Cinematic: wide-spaced subtitles with slow fades.

Steps

How it works

  1. Choose the song

Use a track from your library, where the lyrics come with it, or upload a song and paste its lyrics.

  2. Check the timing

Each line is placed where it is sung. Word-level timing is used when the track has it.

  3. Pick a style and background

Choose one of fourteen lyric styles, a text color, and a waveform, spectrum or artwork background.

  4. Export

Render vertical, widescreen or square versions with thumbnails, ready to post.

How the words are timed

Songs created in the Studio carry their lyrics, and when word-level timestamps exist for a track the video can follow every word. For an uploaded song you paste the lyrics, and the line timing is estimated from the vocal sections the analysis finds in the audio.

Estimated timing is good at line level but can drift on fast verses, ad-libs and repeated hooks. Paste the lyrics as they are actually sung, with one line per sung phrase and repeats written out, and the result will be much closer.

Fourteen lyric styles

Each style sets the font, the motion and how lines enter and leave the screen:

  • Minimal, elegant and romantic for ballads and acoustic songs
  • Kinetic, pop and hip-hop for punchy lines that move with the beat
  • Cinematic, dark and vintage for moody, story-led songs
  • Neon, retro and cyberpunk for synth and electronic music
  • Typography and anime, which fill each word as it is sung when word timing is available

Backgrounds that do not need AI

Behind the text you can run an audio-reactive waveform, bars, spectrum or circle, or use your release artwork as the backdrop. These are rendered in-house and cost no AI credits. If you want the words over generated scenes instead, switch the overlays on in an AI music video project; the scenes are then priced like any other generated video.

Making lyrics readable on a phone

Most lyric videos are watched on small screens. Short lines work better than long ones, high contrast between text and background matters more than the font, and vertical exports keep the words inside the area that app buttons and captions do not cover. Preview the video on a phone before you post it.

What it does not do

It does not transcribe a song you upload, so the words you paste are the words that appear. It also does not place lyrics on camera footage you filmed yourself; the video is built from a visualizer, artwork or generated scenes.

What you get

  • MP4 with timed lyric overlays
  • 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 and 4:5 versions
  • Three thumbnails per export

Prompts

Example prompts

Starting points you can paste into Create and adjust. Specific details — tempo, instruments, mood, structure — give the most control.

  1. Late-night R&B single

Slow R&B song, romantic style in warm white text, circle spectrum pulsing softly behind the words

    StyleRomantic, circle

A slow, round visual suits a slow groove.

  2. Hyperpop hook for short-form

The chorus only, 9:16, neon style in pink, bars visualizer reacting to the kick

    StyleNeon, bars, vertical

A chorus-only cut is the version people share.

    Use in the Studio
  3. Anime opening feel

J-rock track with word-by-word fill in the anime style over the single artwork

    StyleAnime, artwork

Word fill needs word timing, which Studio-made tracks usually have.

    Use in the Studio
  4. Folk storytelling

Five-minute folk ballad, vintage style, sepia artwork background, one line on screen at a time

    StyleVintage, artwork

Long story songs need calm motion so the words can be followed.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does it use AI?
The text and background are rendered by AI Song Generator directly. AI only comes in if you choose generated scenes behind the words, which are priced per scene.
Can it write the lyrics from my audio?
No. Paste the lyrics for an uploaded song. Tracks made in the Studio already have theirs.
Can I change the text color?
Yes. Every style accepts a custom text color.
Which styles highlight each word?
Typography and anime, when the track has word-level timing. The other styles animate line by line.
Can I make a vertical lyric video?
Yes. Export 9:16 for short-form apps, and limit it to the chorus or another section if you want a short clip.
