Describing a voice

You do not pick from a list of named singers. You describe one, using the words a vocal producer would use in a session:

  • Range: bass, baritone, tenor, alto, soprano
  • Texture: breathy, raspy, smooth, nasal, gritty
  • Delivery: whispered, belted, spoken, laid-back, staccato
  • Placement: close-mic and intimate, or distant with reverb
  • Extras: harmonies, a doubled chorus, call-and-response backing vocals

Two ways to get a vocal

For a new song, generate it with lyrics in Custom mode, and the singer and the arrangement are created together. For an instrumental you already have, use add vocals: choose a track from your library or upload one you own, give it lyrics and a vocal style, and the singer is placed on top.

Preferences, not guarantees

Custom mode has a male or female vocal preference. It raises the odds of the voice you asked for; it does not lock it. Because each request can return more than one version, you will often hear different readings of the same description, which helps when you are not yet sure what the song needs.

What the AI singer does not do

It does not imitate real singers, and requests for a named artist's voice are not supported. On the Studio plan you can add reusable custom voices, created from a voice you own or are authorized to use and verified with a recorded phrase. Otherwise, every vocal is an original generated voice.

After the vocal is done

Split the vocal from the instrumental to use the a cappella in your own production, or keep the instrumental and sing over it yourself. Request word-timed lyrics for lyric videos and karaoke-style displays.

Can the AI singer sing my lyrics?
Yes. Paste them in Custom mode, describe the voice and generate. They are sung as written; replace any section where a word slips.
Can I make it sound like a famous singer?
AI Song Generator creates original voices and does not imitate real artists. Describe the qualities you like instead: range, texture and delivery.
Can I use my own voice?
Yes, on the Studio plan. Custom singer voices are created from a voice you own or are authorized to use and verified by a recorded phrase, with consent and rights confirmation. Celebrity and other real-artist voices are never accepted.
Can I choose between a male and a female singer?
Custom mode has a male or female preference that raises the odds of the voice you want. It is not a guarantee, so compare the returned versions.
Can I get the vocal on its own?
Yes. Split any song in your library into vocal and instrumental stems and download the a cappella.
Can it sing harmonies or with a choir?
Ask for them in the style line: "stacked harmonies on the chorus", "doubled lead", "gospel choir answering the lead". The model often adds them where they suit the song, though their exact placement is not something you can set.
Can AI sing a song for me?
Yes. Paste the lyrics into Custom mode, describe the voice you want by range, texture and delivery, and choose a style; the AI singer performs the words with an original generated voice over a new arrangement. If you already have an instrumental, add vocals places the singer on top of it instead. Each request can return more than one reading of the same lyrics, so compare them and keep the one that suits the song.
How do I get AI voices, and can I turn my voice into one?
In AI Song Generator you do not pick from a menu of voices or clone a celebrity; you describe the singer you want, and the result is an original generated voice. On the Studio plan you can also turn your own voice into a reusable AI voice: custom singer voices are created only from a voice you own or are authorized to use, and verified with a recorded phrase. On other plans, the closest option is to generate the song, split off the instrumental and record yourself over it.
What does my voice really sound like?
Closer to a recording than to what you hear while speaking. When you talk or sing, part of the sound reaches your inner ear through the bones of your head, which makes your voice seem deeper and fuller to you. A recording captures only the sound that travels through the air, which is what other people hear. To judge your singing, record on a decent microphone a hand's width or two away, in a quiet room, and listen back on headphones. The AI singer does not analyze or copy your voice.
