Steps

How it works

  1. Paste and label

Paste your lyrics in Custom mode and label every section on its own line.

  2. Describe the sound

Write a style line with the genre, the main instruments and the singer.

  3. Set the length and generate

Choose a duration that gives the lyric room, then generate.

  4. Check every line

Read along with each version and replace any section where words slip.

Format lyrics the way a singer reads them

You have up to 5,000 characters, which is plenty for a full song with a bridge. How you lay those characters out matters as much as the words.

  • Put each section label on its own line: [Verse], [Chorus], [Bridge], [Outro].
  • Write the chorus out in full every time it repeats.
  • Keep lines short enough to sing in one breath.
  • Spell out numbers and abbreviations the way they should sound.
  • Remove notes to yourself, because anything in the lyric box may end up sung.

Syllables and stress

Lines with similar syllable counts across a verse give the melody a steady shape. If one line is much longer than its neighbors, it gets rushed or split. Read the lyric aloud to a steady beat before you generate: the lines you stumble on are the lines the singer will stumble on.

Style and length

The style line sets the genre, tempo feel, instrumentation and voice. Length is set in Custom mode, from 10 seconds to 6 minutes. Give longer lyrics more time, or the arrangement may compress or drop sections to fit.

When a line slips

The model sings your words, but it can occasionally repeat a phrase, swallow a word or stretch a line across the beat. Do not regenerate the whole song for one slip. Select that part of the track, at least 10 seconds and no more than half of it, and replace it with the corrected lyric for that section.

No lyrics yet?

Draft them with the AI lyrics generator, which writes options from a short brief, or work through the AI songwriter flow, which mixes drafting, demos and revisions. Lyrics to song is the last step of both: it sings the words you settle on.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Will it sing my lyrics exactly?
It sings the words you provide, in order. Now and then a word gets repeated, swallowed or stretched; replace that section with the corrected line rather than regenerating everything.
How long can my lyrics be?
Up to 5,000 characters in Custom mode. Set a duration long enough for them, up to 6 minutes.
Can I decide where the chorus goes?
Yes. Label sections with [Verse], [Chorus] and [Bridge] on their own lines, and write each chorus out where it should be sung.
Can I turn lyrics into a song with my own voice?
Yes, on the Studio plan. Create a custom singer voice from your own voice, or one you are authorized to use, by recording a verification phrase, then choose it when you generate from your lyrics. On other plans, describe the voice you want, or split off the instrumental and record yourself singing over it.
Can I add my lyrics to an existing instrumental?
Yes, with the add vocals tool: give it an instrumental from your library or one you own, plus your lyrics and a vocal style.
How do I turn lyrics into a song using AI?
Paste the lyrics into Custom mode, with [Verse], [Chorus] and [Bridge] on their own lines and each chorus written out in full. Add a style line with genre, tempo, instruments and voice, set a length long enough for every section, and generate. Compare the sung versions, keep the one whose melody suits the words best, and replace any section where a word is rushed or skipped. If your lines are uneven, even out the syllable counts before you generate again.
