Free AI song generator

Paste a few lines of lyrics, or a one-line idea, and the free open-source song model on this page will try to sing it over a matching backing track. It runs on Hugging Face Spaces under a third party's control, so vocal quality, waiting times and daily limits vary.

Open it on Hugging Face (opens in a new tab)

The demo can take up to a minute to start. Hugging Face gives every visitor a small amount of free GPU time per day, so a run can fail when that is used up or the Space is busy. Open it on Hugging Face (opens in a new tab)

Third-party, open-model demo

This free demo is hosted on Hugging Face Spaces and runs an open model. It is not part of the AI Song Generator Studio, it does not use Studio credits, and its usage limits are set by Hugging Face.

Steps

How to use it

  1. Open the demo

Click Try free demo to load the third-party Space. If nobody has used it recently, it may need a minute to wake up.

  2. Add lyrics or an idea

Paste a verse and a chorus, or describe the song in one sentence and let the model write simple words for you if the demo offers that option.

  3. Describe the sound

In the style or caption field, name a genre, a vocal type and two or three instruments, for example 'soulful male vocal, Rhodes piano, slow groove'.

  4. Generate a short version first

Start with one verse and one chorus. A song with vocals needs more GPU time than an instrumental clip, so a short test is more likely to finish.

  5. Review the words

Listen for skipped lines and mispronounced words, adjust the spelling or phrasing, and run it again.

How to format lyrics so a model can sing them

Song models read structure from simple tags and line breaks. Put each section in its own block, label it, and keep lines short enough to sing in one breath. Most open models understand tags such as [verse], [chorus] and [bridge], although they do not always respect them.

  • Keep lines to roughly six to ten syllables so the melody has room to breathe.
  • Repeat the chorus word for word each time; repetition helps the model build a recognizable hook.
  • Spell unusual words the way they sound, and write numbers out as words.
  • Leave notes and stage directions out of the lyrics, because some models try to sing them.

What to expect from free vocals

Open-source singing has improved quickly, but it still has rough edges. Voices can sound slightly synthetic, words blur at fast tempos, and the second chorus may come out differently from the first. Some open models sing well in several languages; others were trained mostly on English, so results vary a lot by language.

Because the demo runs on shared hardware, a run can also stop part way through when the anonymous GPU allowance runs out. If that happens, try fewer lines rather than repeating the same long request.

Limits of a shared song demo

These limits come from the hosting platform and the third-party Space, not from an AI Song Generator plan.

  • Daily allowance: anonymous visitors get a small amount of GPU time per day from Hugging Face, often enough for only one or two songs.
  • Waiting: free jobs sit in a low-priority queue behind signed-in Hugging Face users.
  • Availability: the Space can be asleep, paused or changed by its owner without notice.
  • No history: nothing you make is stored in an AI Song Generator library, so save the files you want before leaving.
  • Rights: the model license decides what you may do with the result, and it is not the same as our Terms.

What the paid Studio adds for songwriters

The AI Song Generator Studio is a paid product built around complete songs. It is a different system from the free demo and runs commercial models through our generation provider.

  • Custom mode takes up to 5,000 characters of your own lyrics, a style description, a title and a target length of up to six minutes.
  • Simple mode writes lyrics for you from an idea, or you can draft lyrics first with the AI Lyrics Generator and edit them.
  • Fix one part without starting over: replace a section, extend the ending, or add vocals to an instrumental you already have.
  • Timestamped lyrics, WAV export and stems are available after generation.
  • Every take is saved privately in your library, with versions you can return to.

Prompts

Prompts to try

Starting points you can paste into Create and adjust. Specific details — tempo, instruments, mood, structure — give the most control.

  1. Night-shift anthemYour lyrics

[verse] Vending machine glow at a quarter to three / cold coffee in hand but the morning's still free / [chorus] We run the night, we run the night / the city's asleep but our windows are bright

StyleUpbeat indie pop, male vocal, jangly guitars, driving drums, 118 BPM

A short, repeated chorus line gives the model an easy hook.

  2. Birthday song for a friendAuto lyrics

A playful acoustic song for my friend Sam's 30th birthday: she loves hiking, terrible puns and her old orange van

StyleAcoustic pop, ukulele, hand claps, cheerful female vocal

Personal details make auto-written lyrics feel less generic.

  3. Slow soul balladYour lyrics

[verse] I kept your jacket on the hook by the door / it still holds the shape of the rain from before / [chorus] Come back slow, come back slow / I'll leave the porch light on so you know

StyleSlow soul ballad, warm male vocal, Rhodes piano, brushed drums, soft string pad

Ballads hide fewer mistakes, so they are a good test of pronunciation.

  4. Spanish-language testYour lyrics

[verse] Camino solo por la calle mayor / con la luna de testigo y el ruido del motor / [chorus] Bailamos hasta el sol, bailamos hasta el sol

StyleLatin pop, reggaeton groove, female vocal, bright synths

Language support varies by model, so test a short section first.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can the free AI song generator sing my own lyrics?
Yes, if the model in the demo supports custom lyrics, which most song models do. Paste them with section tags such as [verse] and [chorus] and keep each line short. Expect the occasional skipped or blurred word.
Is it free with no sign-up?
The demo needs no AI Song Generator account and costs nothing. Hugging Face still limits how much free GPU time each visitor gets per day, so you may only get one or two songs before you need to wait.
Which languages can it sing in?
That depends on the open model in the demo. Some handle several languages well; others are trained mostly on English. Test a single verse before writing a whole song in another language.
Can I make a song for a birthday or a gift?
Yes, that is a good use for the demo. Describe the person and a few details they would recognize. For a polished, full-length version you can keep, the Studio lets you edit the lyrics, set the length and save the result.
Who owns a song made with the free demo?
Rights in the output come from the open model's license and the Space's terms, not from AI Song Generator. Check the license before you publish or sell the song. Lyrics you wrote yourself remain yours.
Why are some of my words mispronounced?
Song models guess pronunciation from spelling. Respell tricky words phonetically, avoid abbreviations, and slow the tempo if words are being squeezed together.
How can I make my own song for free?
Write a short verse and a chorus about one idea, then choose a route. You can sing it over a chord loop in a free DAW and record with a phone or laptop microphone, or paste the lyrics into the demo on this page and hear a model sing them over a backing track. Either way, start small: one verse and one chorus, finished, teaches you more than a full song left half done. Our guide on how to make a song walks through melody, chords and structure.
How do I make an AI song for free?
Open the demo on this page, paste one verse and one chorus with [verse] and [chorus] tags, or a one-line idea, and describe the sound with a genre, a vocal type and two or three instruments. Generate a short version first, because songs with vocals use more of the shared daily GPU allowance. Listen for skipped or mispronounced words, fix the spelling and run it again. Download the result before you leave, and check the model license before you share it.
Are there any free AI song generators?
Yes, mainly open-source song models hosted as public demos, like the one on this page, plus limited free tiers from some commercial apps. Free options usually come with short daily allowances, queues, shorter songs and their own license terms, and they can change or disappear without notice. The AI Song Generator Studio is paid only, with full-length songs, editing tools and a private library; this page exists so you can hear what open song models do first.
Can I remix a song for free?
Not with this demo, which only makes new songs from text. To remix at no cost, load the parts into a free DAW and rebuild the track around them: change the tempo, replace the drums, add new chords. Remixing works best with stems, and you need the rights to the original, so remix your own songs or tracks whose owners publish stems for remixing. The paid AI Song Generator Studio has a remix generator for tracks in your library.
