Replace a section of a song without starting over

Replace section regenerates a stretch of a track you select and leaves the rest as it is. Highlight a weak line, a flat chorus or a bridge you want to rewrite, supply the new lyrics and style for that part, and AI Song Generator returns new versions to compare with the original.

Steps

How it works

  1. Open the track

Choose a song from your library and open it in the track view.

  2. Select the part

Highlight 10 seconds or more, up to half of the track.

  3. Write the replacement

New lyrics for that part, the full updated lyrics, and a style.

  4. Compare versions

Check the transitions and keep the version that fits best.

When to replace instead of regenerate

If the whole song misses, generate again. If one part misses, replace it and keep everything that already works.

  • One line is mumbled, rushed or simply wrong
  • The second verse is weaker than the first
  • The chorus needs a bigger lift
  • You want a different bridge or a new instrumental break

The selection rules

The selected stretch must be at least 10 seconds long and no longer than half the track. Very short selections do not give the model enough room to write a convincing passage, and very long ones are better handled by generating again.

Select on the waveform in the track view, from the start of a phrase to its end, so the new part begins and ends at natural boundaries.

Lyrics for the new part

For a vocal song you provide two things: the lyrics for the replaced part, and the full lyrics of the song as they should read after the edit. The second keeps the replacement consistent with the rest of the song. For an instrumental passage, describe the music instead.

Style for the new part

A style description is required. Keep it close to the original when the change should be invisible, or change it on purpose: "drums drop out, just piano and voice" for a breakdown, "bigger drums and stacked backing vocals" for the last chorus.

Compare before you commit

Replacements come back as new versions of the track, and the original stays in the version history. Listen to the edges of the new part first: if a transition jumps, move the selection to a cleaner boundary and try again.

Replace section works on tracks in your AI Song Generator library. It pairs well with extend: fix the middle of a song with a replacement, then add a stronger ending with an extension.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How short can a replaced section be?
At least 10 seconds. Shorter selections do not leave enough room for a convincing new passage.
How much of the song can I replace?
Up to half of the track. For bigger changes, generate a new song or make a cover.
Can I replace part of an uploaded song?
Replace section works on tracks in your AI Song Generator library. Extend, cover, add vocals and add instrumental accept uploads you own.
Do I need to rewrite all the lyrics?
No. Write new lyrics for the replaced part and provide the full lyrics as they should read after the change, so the song stays consistent.
Will the rest of the song change?
The edit targets the selected stretch. The result is saved as a new version, and the original stays in the version history.
Why does the new part sound slightly different?
The replacement is generated fresh, so its tone or mix can differ a little from the rest of the song. Keep the style description close to the original and start and end the selection on clean phrase boundaries.
How do I change a word in a song with AI?
Select a stretch of at least 10 seconds that contains the word, ideally from the start of its line to the end of the phrase, so the new part has room to sound natural. Write the corrected lyrics for that stretch, provide the full lyrics as they should read after the change, keep the style description close to the original, and generate. Compare the new versions with the original and keep the one where the join is hardest to hear. This works on tracks in your AI Song Generator library.
