Mureka alternative: Gold credits, ownership terms and tools compared

Mureka generates songs from text and lyrics and adds tools around them: extend, editing a selected area to fine-tune lyrics or melody, remixing into another style, a reference track, AI music videos, lyric videos without a watermark and text-to-speech. Its subscribe page leads with a model called V9.5; paid plans can also use V9, V8, O2 and V7.6, while the free tier uses v7.5-all.

The terms name the contracting company as SKYWORK AI PTE. LTD. in Singapore, and the FAQ says official emails end in mureka.ai or come from a kunlun-inc address. No official page we read states the corporate relationship with Kunlun outright.

Mureka calls its credits Gold. As of October 15, 2026, Pro costs $10.00/month billed monthly or $8.00/month billed yearly ($96 per year), and Premier costs $30.00/month billed monthly or $24.00/month billed yearly ($288 per year). Mureka's FAQ still quotes lower yearly figures, so we use the live subscribe page.

Pro includes 5,000 Gold a month, which Mureka says covers up to 500 songs or 250 minutes of speech. Premier includes 20,000 Gold, up to 2,000 songs or 1,000 minutes of speech. Gold expires one month after it is issued, and yearly plans issue it monthly. Extra Gold packs are sold only to Pro and Premier subscribers.

The free tier gives 50 Gold per day, enough for up to four songs a day with v7.5-all, and unused daily Gold expires at the end of each day.

Mureka splits ownership by tier. Under terms effective May 13, 2026, users who bought credits or subscribed to a paid tier own the Output, including any IP rights. On the free tier, Mureka owns the Output and grants a license for lawful, internal, non-commercial use with attribution to Mureka.

Two clauses are worth reading closely whatever tier you use. Every user grants Mureka a broad royalty-free license to use Output, including commercially, and Mureka does not guarantee that a song is unique or that it can be registered for copyright. The subscribe page lists full commercial rights on Pro and Premier, including songs made before subscribing, and its FAQ says those rights apply during an active subscription.

Mureka's own pages disagree about free downloads: the comparison table lists MP3 on the free tier, while the FAQ says downloading is a subscription-only feature. Pro lists unlimited MP3 downloads, with WAV shown for paid plans. Premier adds unlimited WAV, stems, MIDI and DAW session downloads. The FAQ says there is no monthly download cap, and that downloads stop when the subscription ends, so save what you need while you are subscribed.

Mureka covers ground that AI Song Generator does not, and for some people that settles it.

AI Song Generator has no free plan, no mobile app and no public developer API. Its plans are Creator at $9.99/month or $99/year with 800 credits, Pro at $19.99/month or $199/year with 1,800 credits, and Studio at $39.99/month or $399/year with 3,750 credits. Credits refresh every month on annual plans too, and a standard song request costs about 20 credits and may return more than one variation.

Where AI Song Generator differs is in how the workspace is organized. Editing tools, from replace section and cover to vocal removal and WAV conversion, start with Creator, the first monthly plan, rather than being reserved for the top tier. Custom mode takes up to 5,000 characters of your lyrics and a style line. You can upload a song you own to restyle it. Lyric videos and visualizers come from the same library on Creator, with AI scene videos on Pro. Tracks stay private until you choose to publish, and published tracks are reviewed. AI Song Generator runs on third-party music generation models and does not publish audio-quality rankings, so we will not claim to beat Mureka V9.5 or any other model. Write one lyric, give both tools the same style description, generate several takes each and listen without labels. Pay attention to how well the words are sung and how closely the style is followed, then decide.
