AI rap music generator

The AI Song Generator Studio generates rap music from text: a beat, a rap vocal and a hook in the hip-hop style you describe, or a beat on its own for your own verses. The drum pattern, the tempo and the flow you ask for shape the result more than anything else.

Steps

How it works

  1. Choose a lane

Boom bap, trap, drill, jazz rap or party rap. Each one sets the tempo, the drums and the delivery.

  2. Bring bars or a topic

Paste your verses in Custom mode, or describe what the track is about and let the Studio write them.

  3. Describe the beat and the flow

Put the BPM, drum pattern, bass, loop instrument and delivery style in the style line.

  4. Keep the take that sits in the pocket

Compare the variations, then replace only the verse or hook that slips off the beat.

What shapes a hip-hop track

Hip-hop production is built around drums and the voice. The beat leaves space for the rap, the melody often comes from one short loop or a simple synth figure, and the low end does a lot of the heavy lifting.

  • Tempo: boom bap around 85 to 95 BPM; trap and drill counted around 130 to 150 BPM but felt in half time.
  • Drums: hard swung kicks and snares in boom bap, rolling hi-hats and sparse kicks in trap, skipping syncopated patterns in drill.
  • Bass: deep 808s with long tails and glides, or a warm bass line under the loop.
  • Harmony: loops of two to four chords, often minor, played on piano, strings, soul-style chops or dark synths.
  • Vocals: rhythmic verses, a chanted or melodic hook, ad-libs, sometimes a sung bridge.
  • Structure: an intro, 16-bar verses, 8-bar hooks and a beat switch or bridge for contrast.

Describing the beat and the delivery

In Simple mode, combine the topic with the sound: "a reflective rap about the first apartment you could afford, boom bap drums, mellow piano loop, laid-back flow". In Custom mode, paste your verses with [Verse] and [Hook] labels and write a style line for production and delivery, for example "trap, 140 BPM half-time, booming 808 slides, fast hi-hat rolls, dark bells, aggressive double-time flow".

Flow words matter as much as beat words: laid-back, conversational, choppy, triplet, double-time, melodic, gritty, deadpan. Describe a delivery, never a rapper. Midnight Cypher, the demo on this page, is a beat-only example: head-nod boom bap at 92 BPM with dusty hard drums, deep bass and sparse piano, built to leave room for vocals.

The Exclude field removes what you do not want: sung chorus, autotune, rock guitar, EDM drop. If you only want the beat, instrumental mode is the cleaner switch.

Hip-hop sub-styles to name

The sub-style name moves the drums, the tempo and the vocal attitude together.

  • Boom bap: swung, punchy drums, dusty loops and a lyric-first delivery.
  • Trap: 808s, rolling hats, a clap on the third beat of a half-time bar and dark melodies.
  • Drill: sliding 808 bass, syncopated hats and kicks, a cold and tense mood.
  • Jazz rap: live-sounding loops with horns and upright bass under reflective verses.
  • Lofi rap: a mellow, crackly loop and a relaxed, almost spoken flow.
  • G-funk style: bouncy funk bass, high synth leads and a laid-back groove.
  • Party rap: bright, bouncy beats and a chant hook built for a crowd.

Lyric tips for AI rap vocals

Write to a count. A bar is four beats; tap them on a table while you read each line and trim syllables until it sits. Keep the hook shorter and simpler than the verses so it reads clearly as the chorus.

  • Use [Intro], [Verse], [Hook] and [Outro] labels so the structure is unambiguous.
  • Put ad-libs in parentheses at line ends instead of inside the bar.
  • Chain multi-syllable rhymes across lines rather than relying on one-word rhymes.
  • Want a beat switch? Add a labeled section and describe the change in the style line.
  • Starting from nothing? The lyrics generator drafts verses from a 200-character brief; rewrite every line that sounds like filler.

What to expect from AI rap

One request can return more than one variation, and in rap the gap between takes is mostly flow: one locks into the pocket, another rushes. Dense multi-syllable bars can blur, and AI-written verses lean on stock brags and money lines. Replace the section that slips instead of regenerating everything, extend the track for an extra verse, and split stems from the library to mix the vocal against the beat.

The vocal is an original AI voice, not an imitation of any rapper. The credit cost is shown before you generate, tracks stay private by default, and for releasing music the AI music copyright guide covers what to check.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What BPM should I use for boom bap, trap and drill?
Boom bap usually sits around 85 to 95 BPM. Trap and drill are counted around 130 to 150 BPM with a half-time feel, so write the number and add half-time in the style line.
Why does the rapper sound off the beat in places?
Lines with too many syllables push the delivery off the grid. Trim the bar or split it in two, then replace only that section and compare the new variations.
Can it copy a famous rapper?
No. The vocal is an original AI voice and briefs that name real artists can be rejected. Describe the delivery: gritty, deadpan, melodic, fast or laid-back.
Can I write explicit or diss lyrics?
Keep real people out of insults and threats. Moderation can reject or soften explicit or abusive requests; fictional rivals and playful roasts work best.
Can I release a rap track made in the Studio?
That depends on your plan, the Terms, your inputs and applicable law. Rewrite generated bars in your own words before you register or distribute anything.
