Music video
Add lyrics to a music video
In AI Song Generator you can add timed lyrics on top of any music video you make in the Studio, whether the picture is generated scenes, a visualizer or your animated cover art. The overlay follows the vocal line by line, or word by word where the track has word timing, and it cannot be applied to footage you filmed and upload.

Steps
How it works
Open a video project
Any project with a song: generated scenes, a visualizer or an animated cover.
Check the lyrics
Studio tracks bring their lyrics with them. For uploaded songs, paste the words as they are sung.
Turn on lyrics
Pick one of fourteen styles and a text color that reads well over your picture.
Export both versions
Keep a clean version and a lyric version of the same video from one project.
Where you can add lyrics
Lyric overlays are a layer of the AI Song Generator video renderer, so they work on every video type made in a project: AI music videos built from generated scenes, audio-reactive visualizers and cover art videos. The layer is drawn at export time, which means you can switch it on, change the style or switch it off again without generating any scene a second time.
It does not caption your own footage
Many people searching for this want to put song lyrics on a clip they filmed. That is not possible here: projects cannot import camera footage. If your video already exists, a general video editor with a caption or text tool is the right choice. If you are making a new video for a song, the Studio can create the picture and the lyrics together.
Where the timing comes from
Songs made in the Studio can carry word-level timestamps, which allow karaoke-style highlighting. For uploaded songs, you paste the lyrics and the line timing is estimated from the song analysis. Estimated timing works line by line and is less exact on dense rap verses or heavily layered vocals, so it is worth previewing the busiest sections before export.
Choosing a style for the picture underneath
Over generated scenes the text has to compete with a moving image, which changes which styles work:
- Busy, colorful scenes: minimal or elegant styles in a light color
- Dark, moody scenes: cinematic or dark styles with a warm accent color
- Visualizer backgrounds: kinetic, neon or pop styles can take more motion
- Anime or illustrated scenes: the anime style, with word fill when timing allows
Keeping the words readable
Vertical exports keep the text inside the part of the frame that app buttons, captions and profile names do not cover. Shorter lines are easier to read on a phone than long ones, so split long lines where the singer breathes. If a scene is very bright behind the words, a darker style or a stronger text color usually fixes it without changing the picture.

Use in the Studio - Karaoke chorus
Chorus only, 9:16, typography style with word-by-word fill over the bars visualizer
StyleTypography, word fill
Word fill needs word timing, which Studio-made songs usually have.
Use in the Studio - Moody cinematic overlay
Cinematic lyric style in amber over the night-drive scenes, lines fading in on each vocal phrase
StyleCinematic, amber
A warm accent color stays readable on dark footage.
Use in the Studio - Hip-hop verse
Hip-hop lyric style on the second verse of an uploaded track, lyrics pasted with one line per bar
StyleHip-hop
One line per bar keeps estimated timing close on fast verses.
