AI sound effect generator for video and games

The AI Song Generator sound effect generator creates effects such as impacts, whooshes and ambiences from a text description, from the Creator plan. On the Pro plan, the multi-stem splitter can also separate the effects layer from tracks in your library.

Steps

How it works

  1. List the effects you need

Write each one as source, action, space and character.

  2. Generate one effect per request

Check the credit cost, confirm, and audition the result.

  3. Loop the ambiences

Turn on the loop option for rain, wind, hum and other beds that run under a scene.

  4. Place and trim in your editor

Line each effect up with the picture and trim its start so the hit lands on the cut.

What the effect generator does

Type what you hear, such as "glass bottle rolling across a wooden floor" or "sci-fi door hissing open", and get a short sound back. For ambiences like rain or engine hum, switch on the loop option so the clip can repeat under a scene for as long as it lasts.

Each effect appears in your library next to your music, ready to download as MP3. The credit cost is shown before each generation, so you can plan a list of effects before you spend anything.

How to describe a sound effect

Short, concrete descriptions give the most usable effects. Write each one from four parts:

  • Source: what makes the sound (a metal door, a small dog, an old car)
  • Action: what it does (slams, skids, creaks open)
  • Space: where it happens (a tiled bathroom, an open field, inside a car)
  • Character: heavy, distant, muffled, crisp

Separating effects from music

To isolate or remove sound effects in a track, use the multi-stem splitter, a Pro plan tool, on tracks in your AI Song Generator library. Its split includes an effects stem alongside vocals, drums, bass and other parts whenever the track contains effects, so you can mute it, lower it or reuse it on its own.

Separation does not process audio uploaded from elsewhere, so it cannot take effects out of your own videos or recordings.

Where generated effects fit, and where they do not

Generated effects are strongest for designed sounds: risers, impacts, interface tones, magical shimmers and background ambiences. There is no duration setting, so the length follows the description, and the result is not synced to your picture. Footsteps, cloth movement and other foley that must match an actor frame by frame are still easier to record or take from a licensed library, then place by hand.

Comparing music and sound effect tools

If you are comparing AI tools that offer both music and sound effects, check whether each one handles both in the same workspace, which formats it exports, and what its license allows for commercial projects. Our guide to the best AI music generators covers the music side in more detail.

What you get

  • Generated sound effects as MP3
  • Looping ambiences with the loop option
  • Effects stem from a multi-stem split of a library track (Pro)

  4. Night forest bed

Night forest ambience with crickets, light wind and a distant owl

Loop on, so it can run under a whole camping scene.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I generate sound effects now?
Yes, from the Creator plan. Describe the effect, switch on the loop option for ambiences, and the credit cost is shown before you confirm.
Can AI separate sound effects from music?
For tracks in your AI Song Generator library, yes, on the Pro plan: the multi-stem splitter returns an effects stem separately from vocals, drums and other parts when the track contains effects.
Can I remove sound effects from my own video?
No. Separation works on tracks created in AI Song Generator, not on uploaded videos or recordings.
Can the generator make loops?
Yes. The loop option suits ambiences such as rain, wind or machinery that need to run under a scene.
What should I use for transitions?
Generated whooshes, risers and short hits work well. For a transition with a musical shape, a short instrumental stinger from 10 seconds in Custom mode is another option.
Can I set the length of an effect?
No. The generator has no duration setting: it returns a clip sized to the sound you describe. Trim it in your editor, or use the loop option for ambiences that need to run longer.
